last weekend we held our 7th annual gregg manwaring family reunion! emily and brandon were the hosts this year and did a FANTASTIC job! everyone was in attendance except for my poor sister katie, who came down with the flu the morning of. we missed all you hollingsworths!
friday night natalie (we love you nat!) held a movie/pizza party for all 15 kids while everyone else went and did a temple session at the idaho falls temple! it was really special to be their with most of my siblings, my parents, and two grandmothers. after the session we went back to my parents to relieve natalie and enjoyed a five-star dinner courtesy of brandon & emily. mouth-watering marinated steak shish kebabs, baked potatoes, and corn on the cob. i know there was more but those are the items that stand out the most right now.
after digesting our dinner brandon pulled out some adorable "baked potato" ice cream treats. he had formed baked potatoes out of ice cream, covered them in nesquik, added a dollop of whip cream (sour cream), and then sprinkled it with green nuts (chives). they were delicious!
saturday morning all the guys headed to heise hot springs for 18-holes of golf. the rest of the gang joined them in heise later that morning for a day packed with swimming, snacking, and a picnic lunch. we had a great time playing in the pool. heise also boasts a 350 foot water slide. if you can get over the slimy carpeted stairs to get up to the slide you can enjoy a wet, twisty, speedy ride down.
