happy independence day! the weekend of celebrating is little bit of a blur! but, we spent time with family eating yummy food so i know it was enjoyable.
kevin had thursday-monday off because we were going to be having our gregg manwaring family reunion over the weekend with camping and swimming. but, my sweet little nephew (spencer-2 months old) had spent most of the week in the hospital so we decided to cancel the reunion not knowing if his family would be able to celebrate with us. so, we had a low key weekend doing yard work (MUCH NEEDED) and relaxing around the house.
friday night we had a pizza party at my mom's. saturday morning we hit the parade and then spent the remainder of the day eating and relaxing at my parent's home while the kids played on the banzai. we opted not to go to the fireworks so we just watched them from our park yard. believe it or not we could see most of the high flying ones and the kids were just as content with that option. and we did our own little firework show at the same time. it worked nicely!
then sunday night we went back to my parents for some more visiting, eating, and also did some sparklers. madalyn was fascinated with them and was REALLY mad when i wouldn't let her hold them herself. hard headed already! (;
