the devious dragons

somehow i was coerced into coaching tball for owen and 14 other four and five year olds. we called ourselves the devious dragons and on our final game we played the dragon trainers. i thought that was so appropriate. i must say it was quite the experience. thank goodness i had an assistant coach, two young boys that worked as managers, and helpful parents! AND, i certainly would not have survived the 1 1/2 months without my mom and friend steph! it was a major amount of work but it came with it's rewards.

i was glad i was able to be a part of this with owen and it was also fun to get to know all the other little kids running around this little city. and if there is one thing i will take away from this it would be that owen's future coaches will have my utmost respect and i will be sure to show my appreciation for their service. it's hard work for a volunteer!

my all-star owen

owen LOVED the batting! and he was quite the hustler getting to the ball (regardless if it was on the opposite side of the field). and once he got to the ball he would dive for it and just lay there for a SEVERAL seconds. so funny!

we had more than a couple fights over the ball, which i actually preferred over nobody running for the ball. (:

it was a great time! now, on to the rest of the summer!
