hand-made

yesterday was a 2-star day and a 5-star night. let's skip the lousy part and just get to the good stuff.

kevin's sister, staci, and her hubby, kyle, came and enjoyed some pizza with us last night while enjoying the bsu game in the background. then at 7:30 they sharpened their parenting skills by watching our boys while we went and enjoyed a movie (eagle eye...pretty good!). THANKS YOU TWO!

then, as soon as the show was over (10pm...mind you) i dropped by carino's and picked up 5 much needed slices of their turtle cheese cake, dropped kevin off at home and was off to emily's place in shelley, id for an emergency crafting night with (some of) my sisters!

by 2am we were appreciating these beauties! aren't they fun?! i love them. thanks EMILY, NATALIE, and ELENA for all the food, fun, and laughs (and a little deep conversation thrown in here and there)!

Becky, I LOVE THOSE!! And you are so crafty (must be your whole family if you have emergency craft nights..which btw are way cool) I still have those pumpkins we made in RS years ago and I always think of you and your craftiness!

PS Do tell me where you got all your stuff to make them and your ideas :)

jen, i am so glad you share my feelings. i think they are way cute! a cousin of mine made them for my sister and that is where we got the idea. it's so easy...just go the the craft store and buy coordinating scrapbook paper in fall and winter colors, buy some modge podge glue, and you can get the wood letters at the craft store too (provo craft made these and we found them at roberts and michaels). then, go to lowe's or home depot and get some wood to cut into your blocks.

sand the blocks
cut the paper
glue the paper to the blocks with modge podge glue
place an additional 2-3 coats of modge podge over the entire block
sand and stain the block (if you like)
paint your letters
sand and stain the letters (if you want)
glue on letters with tacky glue

we used just six blocks...one side says autumn and the other side says winter. my sister also had another set of six blocks that read summer and spring (next project).

So Cute! I too love your "emergency craft night"! I don't know how you stay up past 10 pm(let alone drive home safely at 2AM!)! LOL possibly because your kids sleep better than mine. :) Lucky you to have family close by to spend doing fun things with!:)

Becky....THIS is your talent. I can't do stuff like this. I don't know how girls get it to look just right, but you do. Oohhh, they're just adorable. Great job, and thanks for the tutorial.

LOoks awesome on your table! That was fun, we need more nights like that. I haven't had water come out my nose from laughing in a really long time. We missed all you other sisters.

Those are so cute! I must admit...I'm envious that you live close to sisters to do this fun, spontaneous stuff!
