our blue eyed baby
thursday night melissa and blake fed us a baked potato bar and after all the kids were tucked in the adults meet at my mom and dad's cabin for a little "family meeting". i really look forward to this time when my dad and mom can address all of their kids and give us some much needed direction and encouragement.
dad wanted to talk to us about some things that have been on his mind since he was called to serve in the stake presidency a few months ago. i wanted to remember some of the things he touched on:
prayer
scripture study
being an example in all areas of your life
serving others and being less selfish. helping the poor and needy.
repentance and the story about saul and samuel and how saul only partially obeyed God's command.
temple attendance and the desires of our hearts (mosiah 5:13) and how we are promised that our family will be blessed through our temple attendance.
it's moments like these that i am TRULY grateful for righteous parents. who even though their children are grown take the time to lead and guide us...especially when we are all together.
friday morning we woke up to breakfast courtesy of katie and chris. they served breakfast sandwiches. then we packed up, cleaned up, and headed home.
it was a wonderful three nights. im already looking forward to next year.
