february 23rd marked the day all gregg manwaring's look forward to each winter. the annual manwaring snowmobile trip!

kevin was the most excited this year because he was able to take off a week of work. don't get me wrong, he enjoys his job. but he also works very long hours and so he was thrilled to go into "seclusion" (if you can call it that with 30 people) doing what he enjoys.

so, we drove to island park tuesday morning (about 1 1/2 hrs from home) for a three-night stay at the pines.
we love staying there. we rent three cabins right next to each other and hunker down for a few days of games, food, rest, relaxation, soaking, and snowmobiling.

this year we shared a cabin with my oldest sister, katie, and her family of seven. this was my first time staying in the same cabin with katie and i enjoyed it very much!

kevin and i got to island park first so we pulled up to the pines lodge and went inside for some delicious food while we waited for everyone else to get there. shortly after we sat down my parents arrived so we enjoyed lunch with them. emily and brandon were the only ones that couldn't make it. she was days away from having their first baby and wasn't interested in having it in island park. WE MISSED YOU TWO!

we spent the rest of the day getting situated into our cabin (sometimes it feels like we pack the whole house) and then wandered over to the cabin my parents, and ben and justin's families were staying in for dinner. ben and kaylin made us a some delicious white chili. then it was back to our own cabin for games, snacking, and hot tubs.

wednesday morning we went to the cabin jarom and melissa's families were staying in for a egg casserole breakfast courtesy of the jarom manwaring's. and then we discussed the plan for the day. we decided we would spend this day doing our family rides (which we did by cabin). our cabin was the third group. so around 3pm we took off on the snowmobiles to big springs (about an hour ride round trip).
